A Modern Spin on the Treehouse

You can take Seattlites out of the trees (sort of -you have to woo them down with vegan snacks and what not) but you can't take the tree out of the Seattlite.

Whatever You Do, Freeze

If you see the picture of the man (Let's actually say genderqueer individual - this is Seattle and all), and you see ze suddenly turn into this signal, freeze. Wherever you are. If you happen to be halfway in the street at this point, freeze. Do not even blink an eye or bat a lash until those 14 seconds are up. If there is a car coming at you, if Obama comes down from the heavens wearing a superman cape and offers to part the street for you, if a Beyonce song starts blaring in the background or Edward Cullen appears on his knees in front of you, don't move. Don't even think about it.

The Statue of Liberty?

On a brisk fall day, I walk the beaches of West Seattle. Woah, you can see mountains from the beach - big mountains. But wait, is that the Statue of Liberty? Ok, there are two explanations here. Either I drank too much of the creepy tea and I have suddenly become a giant (think Alice in Wonderland) or Ellis island has somehow drifted south, through the Panama Canal and up the Pacific Coast. Further exploration needed.
